DOT Still Eyes 2 Million More Tourists this Year

The Department of Tourism is keeping its target and eyeing to lure nearly two million more foreign tourists this year despite the resignation of Secretary Alberto Lim.

Tourism Assistant Secretary Benito Bengzon said the DOT would not allow Lim’s sudden exit to derail the department’s programs and affect the tourism industry.

Garbage Dredged from Metro Esteros

In just four days, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) hauled in over 1,200 tons worth of garbage from the metropolis’ waterways.

The MMDA has launched its month-long “August Estero Blitz” campaign, which aims to clean and de-clog esteros of the metropolis.
